Job Description

Position Scope:

The incumbent serves as a strategic planning partner for the Walmart International in country teams. Provides sales and financial communication between Walmart, Inc. and the K-C International sales organizations to support the profitable growth of K-C business with Walmart. Tasks to include Joint Business planning responsibility, the transfer of best practices between the Walmart U.S./ in country support teams, including reporting, training, pricing and promotion, strategic business planning, RSi and retail link reporting skills to further develop our in country capabilities. The incumbent works closely with new geographies to ensure Walmart readiness.

The incumbent will travel domestically and internationally up to 20-25% of the work time, including some multiple week trips. The incumbent will be required to communicate with Kimberly-Clark and customer personnel during business hours in their respective global time zones, up to 16 hours different. The incumbent will analyze and interpret data and develop recommendations and courses of action either verbally or in written form. The incumbent will be dealing with a global customer and with K-C affiliate personnel from various countries and cultures. Be a strategic planning partner for the International Walmart team.


SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

Conducts joint business planning with KC in country teams, customer buyers, supply chain and other key customer contacts to drive volume and profit growth for Kimberly-Clark categories. Responsible for implementing brand strategies and tactics with customers by reaching out to key stake holders. Manage customer relationships, reporting, business planning and trade management, utilizing cross-functional resources and varied data sources.


Position Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain an effective business relationship with all key customer contacts including effective business planning and reviews. Establish working relationships at Senior levels within the customer and Kimberly Clark.
• Be jointly accountable for the financial performance, analysis and profitability of the International Walmart business.
• Requires the ability to negotiate directly with Walmart Senior management at the country level across various geographies.
• Assist the in-country K-C teams in obtaining knowledge and developing a customer strategy that is aligned with the preferred business practices of Walmart, Inc. and K-C. Serve as a liaison between the in-country K-C sales team and the Walmart in-country buyers to identify and prioritize opportunities.
• Coordinate annualWalmart Global Summit for all local K-C account managers with Wal-Mart sales responsibility. Establish and maintain a system to keep senior global sales managers and assigned Country / Account managers up to date with useful information concerning Wal-Mart.
• Assure successful coordination of new business activity between the local affiliate and Wal-Mart as they enter new countries.
• Be responsible for the communication, co- ordination and achievement of all the major Walmart International KPI’s by country in order to deliver the annual JBP

Track performance vs. JBP on a weekly monthly basis and ad hoc to ensure all KC team members are aware of current business performance and projections
• Contribute to the achievement of business and personal objectives by seeking and responding to performance feedback by initiating personal development activities to enhance functional effectiveness.

Key tasks:

  • Walmart, Inc.: Establish business relationships with Senior Walmart International management, both Bentonville and in country based, to facilitate efficient communication and coordination between the International teams of Kimberly-Clark and the Walmart organization.
  • In-country sales organization: Work with in country teams to develop strategic Joint Business plans, communicate key business strategies across all geographies. Identify opportunity areas within geographies. Co ordinate close communication between US/Canadian and Puerto Rican teams.
  • U.S. Consumer Sales : Establish and maintain an effective data collection system on Walmart business KPI’s, strategic initiatives and share best practices back into the US
  • Comprehensive understanding of business planning process. Provide JBP targets, objectives and forecasts complete with issue identification. Facilitate the development and implementation of all aspects of the business planning process at an International level across countries including: target and objective setting, initial plan analysis, weekly/monthly reporting and recommendations, current plan tracking and recommendations to resolve issues and finally gap management.

  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years prior successful consumer packaged goods sales, marketing, or logistics experience.
  • Demonstrated ability with a personal computer including Word, Excel, Power Point, E-Mail and customers database management software.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Walmart experience; especially international experience
  • eCommerce experience
  • 1-3 years of prior successful experience as a member of a global customer support team
  • 1-years of prior successful experience as a member of a global customers support team.
  • Understanding of Kimberly-Clark global organization, functional supports, tools and resources available and when and how to use them.
  • Knowledge of strategic business planning, advanced selling skills, account development strategies, negotiating dynamics, financial analysis and the customer’s decision making process.
  • Understanding of Kimberly-Clark global business plans, long term strategies and delivers results which support these strategies.
  • Experience with coordination of data collection, joint development of meaningful sales reports and analysis.
  • Experience with coordination /implementation of training across all functions of the customers’ business model.
  • Interacts with and has access to decision makers at the highest levels within the customer.
