Job Description Position Overview:
Molex is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting to take the lead in supporting Molex’s accounting and financial reporting processes. This position oversees the financial close and preparation and distribution of audited consolidated financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices. This position will also research new accounting pronouncements, assess and communicate their impact and participate in implementation.

Essential Functions:
  • Focus on talent development by defining the roles, responsibilities and expectations of the team and providing continual feedback throughout the year to support our vision and create value for the organization.
  • Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner. Be a resource for the organization for technical accounting guidance by managing financial policies, answering questions and adequately communicating changes throughout the organization.
  • Facilitate a strong internal control environment through continual assessment, awareness and knowledge sharing. Maintain a strong relationship with the Internal Audit group to help prioritize audits / assessments, knowledge share on themes and best practices, and following up on audit findings to ensure compliance. Manage internal policies and adequately communicate changes throughout the organization.
  • Lead the month-end close and consolidation process including preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements. Manage internal reporting as well as reporting to our parent company, external reporting of quarterly and annual financial statements, and governmental reporting as required.
  • Lead year-end close and audit process including preparation of financial statements, footnotes and supporting documentation. Maintain relationship with external auditors and ensure deadlines for year-end reporting are met.
  • Facilitate special projects such as goodwill and intangible asset impairment testing, quality of earnings due diligence, and acquisition integration, including opening balance sheet and purchase price adjustments.
  • Job RequirementsRequired Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree, or 7+ combined years of experience in public accounting, financial reporting and/or manufacturing industry experience
    • 5+ combined years of experience in public accounting, financial reporting and/or manufacturing industry experience
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
    • Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
    • Masters of Accountancy
    • Previous experience in supporting a global manufacturing organization
    • Strong technical U.S. GAAP knowledge
    • Experience with the consolidation process, including elimination entries and consolidating international entities with foreign currencies

    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express ideas and exchange information clearly and concisely across multiple cultures in multiple geographies
    • Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
    • Organization skills to anticipate, plan, organize and self-monitor workload
    • Ability to work extended hours during the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process
