Dover Behavioral Health is a mental health facility located in Dover, DE. Our treatment center provides mental health and addiction treatment services to individuals from Delaware, Maryland, and most other states throughout the US. Our experienced, caring professionals are the heart of what we do, providing superior inpatient and outpatient behavioral healthcare services for adolescents and adults. We provide consistent attention to our patients and are responsive to their individual needs. Our treatment programs are tailored to the needs of each patient and are developed and implemented through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach that combines the skill and expertise of our healthcare professionals. Dover Behavioral Health System is seeking dynamic and talented Registered Nurses for Saturdays and Sundays 7a - 11p to join its growing hospital! At DBH, our nurses are committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate, and therapeutic patient care making us a great place to work!

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in the development and practice of the field of nursing in accordance with the facility and department's philosophy, objectives, standards, policies and procedures
  • Plan, provide, and evaluate patient care through quality Nursing Assessments
  • Document observations, treatments, interventions, patient teaching and responses according to the facility and department’s policy and procedures
  • Develop staff assignments at the start of the shift and delegates tasks to appropriate staff and takes responsibility to ensure that the delegated tasks are completed prior to end of the shift
  • Serve as a leader and role model for patients and hospital staff
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients using strong communication skills and that incorporates the treatment plan goals, objectives, and interventions
  • Maintain a therapeutic and patient-centered milieu on the unit
  • Attend treatment team meetings and collaborates with physicians, therapists, and other team members in planning patient care
  • Administer patient medications as prescribed by physician in a safe, accurate and timely manner utilizing the "Five Rights" of medication administration.
