Job Description

Hematology Supervisor (3rd Shift) - Phoenix, AZ We have an exciting opportunity for a 3rd shift Hematology Supervisor to work with an establish company in Phoenix, AZ. Shift/Schedule: Tuesday -Saturday, 12:00 AM to 9:00 AMResponsibilities:  

  • Testing samples and reporting results in a timely fashion
  • Monitoring and responding to all client concerns
  • Managing and assisting with laboratory QC including equipment calibration
  • Maintaining Standard Operating Procedures manuals for all QA functions as necessary
  • Monitoring and evaluating established protocols and recommend changes as needed
  • Completing monthly Safety talks for 100 compliance and competency monitoring
  • Monitoring and documenting annual safety training and current licenses for all personnel
  • Complying with all other company policies and procedures
  • Maintaining laboratory stock levels
  • Keeping laboratory clean and organized.
  • Responsible for all QA, equipment maintenance, and CAP/CLIA requirements.
  • Supervises employees in the department with responsibility for hiring and training staff to meet and maintain performance and customer service levels per departmental guidelines
  • Scheduling shifts and rotations; managing and tracking overtime 
  • Responding to and resolving performance staff deficiencies and policy violations
  • Completing payroll in a timely manner; holding departmental meetings.
  • Minimum Requirements: 

  • Requires a B.S. Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Sciences or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Lab supervisor
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Technologist, preferably in Hematology.
  • Must be able to pass standardized color vision test.
  • Must meet all State and Local licensing requirements where the laboratory is located and must meet CLIA requirements.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures for biohazards and chemicals, as well as quality control procedures and regulations
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Proven attention to detail with effective organizational skills
  • Proven problem solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing
  • Effective interpersonal and team skills, and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Previous experience in an ISO reference testing facility will be helpful.
