Areas of Responsibility:

  • Safely and proficiently operate all yard equipment and fork trucks. Immediately inform Manager of any equipment problems
  • Perform all Tankyard duties needed at Main Plant that are required to maintain a sufficient flow of materials to the plant
  • Unload stock from incoming vehicles and move to proper staging location based on product (shelter, grading area, cooler, tanks, etc.)
  • Ensure tanks are ready for filling: cleaned and non-leaking
  • Place cover boards and timbers in proper placement
  • Cover tanks, move conveyors, brine tanks, add salt when needed, and keep area clean
  • Fill lixator daily
  • Receive salt, insure proper silo being filled and inform Supervisor when need to order salt
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Tankyard Manager
  • Work in other departments as assigned when Tankyard work is not available
  • Responsible for reporting any food safety and food quality issues to management as well as the following specific duties involving food safety and quality:
  • 1. Fill out all required paperwork for traceability
  • 2. Treat used brine; heat or chemical; supply sample to lab
  • 3. Maintain proper brine level on tanks
  • 4. Make brine to specifications
  • Will be exposed to all weather elements.
