Did you know that Med-Surg Nursing is no longer an entry-level position, but a distinct specialty? It is the foundation and backbone of every institution and one of the most demanding. At Tulane, our Med Surg RNs are provided with the resources and knowledge they need to succeed.
Our nursing staff will provide an inside view of exceptional patient care across 4 specialty units covering patients in cardiology, medicine, general surgery, urology surgery, hematology/oncology, orthopedic, pulmonary, ENT, ophthalmology, overflow neuro and neuro stroke.
JumpStart Your Nursing Career at HCA by considering our SpecialtyTraining Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN). This NewGraduate Nurse Apprenticeship Program is designed to prepare you to succeed ina hospital environment. The Apprenticeship Program is a facility sponsored, HCA led specialty training initiative designedto provide intense post graduate training to a new graduate nurse. The programis comprised of a combination of didactic training, high definition simulationand clinical preceptorship scheduled to start on June 12th, 2017.
As a new RN in our Apprenticeship Program, you will receive theeducation and support necessary to develop the judgment, skill and knowledgeyou’ll need to become the highest caliber nurse. A lofty goal – yet a veryachievable one – we guarantee you will be mentored by the best, most highlyeducated nurses within our facility.
Duringthe Apprenticeship program, you will work with instructors to complete the classassignments, skills training, exercises and relevant testing. Then, you willwork with your preceptor during the seven week preceptorship thatfollows. At successful program completion, you will be a full-time hospitalemployee with specialty training, established relationships and familiaritywith our values and culture.

Position Requirements (Minimum qualificationsfor the position)
•Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
• Obtained a State specificRN License, ATT letter to sit for licensure exam or state-approved temporarylicense.
Special qualifications: Must be able to successfully complete established competencies during the 14 week duration of the Nurse Apprenticeship Program. Effective communication skills; both oral and written. Computer skills needed. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
All Graduate Nurses for the RN Residency Program participants are expected to come to class daily prepared with laptop and stethoscope, dressed appropriately, and with a professional, engaged, and courteous attitude at all times.#CB #LI-MIDAMER
