Job Description

This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the billing area in PFS, encompassing charge entry, claims submissions, payment posting and accounts receivable follow-up. Also, serves as the go to person for all billing processes. Analyze billing and claims for accuracy and completeness; submit claims to proper insurance entities and follow up on any issues. Maintain contacts with other departments to obtain and analyze additional patient information to document and process billings.

 Prepares and analyzes Billing reports and financial reports, weekly and monthly. Audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of billing. Ensures that the activities of the billing operations are conducted in a manner that is consistent with overall department protocol, and are in compliance with Federal, State and payer regulations, guidelines and requirements. Participates in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures for Patient Financial Services

Required Skills

Required: Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Required: Typing 30 words per minute

Required: Demonstrates good verbal, written, and comprehension skills

Required: Ability to follow and complete detailed directions

Required: Supports an environment of team work

Required: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Required: Medical Terminology

Required: Medicare/Medicaid, Managed Care and third party guidelines in a hospital environment

Preferred: Experience with Passport, NEBO, FSS0 and Soarian Financials

Job RequirementsRequired Experience

Two (2) years Supervisory and Management experience in a hospital setting

3 to 5 years Medicare & Medicaid Hospital billing and follow-up experience
