Job Description

Vaco has been given an exclusive to fill a Procedure Coordinator for a growing healthcare practice in Roswell, GA. This is a temp role with the possibility of being permanent. Pay is from $14-$16/hr. Hours are M-F 8:00am-5:00pm. The candidate should have a good understanding of pain management scheduling for surgery and related procedures. Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum one year experience working in a high patient volume physician group practice or health care environment. Preferred experience in Spine or Pain Management specialties.
  • Computer literate, with keyboard skills
  • Experience in a project-oriented position preferred
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve and function in time sensitive situations
  • Ability to work with patients and make them feel comfortable
  • Neat, professional appearance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel for training
  • Travel required for satellite clinics
  • Teamwork: must help with all surgery schedulers workloads when needed and in downtime.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinates schedules, reschedules, and books patients' surgical appointments and communicates schedule to staff
  • Greets and registers patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner and verifies necessary information and records in the medical record
  • Maintains and updates physicians' surgery schedule
  • Daily data entry of all surgery schedules in the EMR
  • Discusses pre-operative instructions with the patient, as directed by physicians
  • Schedules operating room time, according to the physician's scheduling protocols
  • Schedules all appropriate pre-operative tests
  • Coordinates all business and clinical paperwork prior to surgery, using physician approved forms and checklists
  • Responds to written and telephone inquiries from patient and carriers regarding planned surgeries, initiates precerts
  • Maintains communication among the physician, patient, insurance company, and hospital at all times
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Attends continuing education courses as requested
  • Attends all regular staff meetings
  • Required education:

  • High school or equivalent
