Arcadis is actively seeking a Project Electrical Engineer with 7-10 years’ experience, to join our Water Business Line team in the Detroit area.
This is an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer, with consulting engineering experience, to join our team and be involved in a variety of electrical engineering tasks for Municipal and Industrial water / wastewater projects; such as those regarding design, analysis, and layout of power distribution systems, standby power systems, lighting systems, data communications, equipment relay logic, and instrumentation and controls systems, with support from one of the best-qualified consulting firms in the country and a strong nationally recognized technical staff. The Project Electrical Engineer will report to a Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Manager in the Detroit office.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Will lead and assist with various electrical design projects, involving municipal projects with an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment plant related facilities and associated electrical systems.
Responsibilities will include establishing design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one line diagrams, control schematics, plans and specifications.
Design work will require a basic knowledge of AutoCAD, specifically concerning as mentioned electrical systems for Engineering Design and Construction projects.
Will be responsible for construction cost estimating, code reviews, field investigations, report and memo writing and other similar electrical engineering related tasks.
Responsible for providing engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFI’s (request for information).
Position requires engineer to be performance-driven and client-focused with strong written/verbal communication skills and an impressive work ethic.
Must have the ability to work productively in a team environment to coordinate with engineers of various disciplines constantly throughout the project lifecycle.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field of study with a minimum of 7 years experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan.
Ability to lead and self-direct work on multiple assignments, while meeting project deliverable dates and completing other task-driven assignments.
Solid experience in Water/Wastewater Electrical Engineering design.
Strong baseline knowledge of a National Electrical Codes (NEC) and National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA) codes.
Basic understanding of AutoCAD.
Client relationship skills; including preparation and development of proposals, presenting at client meetings and basic understanding of how to manage client expectations.
Must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as excellent teamwork skills.
Proficient with MS Office applications.
10 years’ experience in W/WW Electrical Engineering design.
Solid technical experience with electrical engineering and design activities, (i.e. - power and standby power systems, lighting and motor control systems design).
Ability to lead Instrumentation and Control designs.
Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
