The Opportunity

KING5 in Seattle, WA is looking for a Major Accounts Manager to lead national and political sales efforts which will include managing a team of account executives and a Telerep team that covers the country.


  • General supervision of, and responsibility for, all national and regional sales efforts.
  • Develop and execute strategy to drive revenue on national and regional business
  • Promote and sell all station assets including broadcast and digital products.
  • Grow and defend share position on all business.
  • Steward business while applying appropriate rate discipline
  • Develop incremental opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Engineer and maintain genuine relationships with key accounts and agency personnel.
  • Accurately identify, monitor and forecast sales and marketing trends for key business segments.
  • Complete appropriate business activity reports and forecasts as required.
  • Review and adjust metrics to monitor sales/market share change.
  • Deliver timely coaching and relevant feedback to sales team.
  • Proactively promote and sell station sports and specials.
  • Assists Director of Sales in special projects as assigned.
  • Manage regional Account Executives.

  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Five years of broadcast sales experience
  • Three years of sales management experience
  • Deep knowledge of all facets of national and political advertising sales
  • Must have advanced PC skills including Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of Wide Orbit, SharePoint, Medialine, WOMS, NSI and ComScore
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and follow-through projects to completion
  • Strong presenter and communicator with internal and external customers and partners
