Job Description

TriMedx is seeking a Corporate Tax Program Manager to lead a scope of responsibilities ranging from compliance activities to tax planning. The position will work with Operations, Accounting, various tax authorities and service providers to advise management on existing tax impacts, recommend and implement tax strategies and ensure compliance at local, county, state and federal levels.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and assists external resources in the preparation of the income tax returns, tax extensions, and tax estimates
  • Files state and local tax documents by preparing property tax returns, state, and municipal returns, and extensions
  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax filings
  • Complete required tax reporting in a timely manner
  • Maintains compliance with regulations by providing required information to federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Prepares tax provision schedules by reviewing, preparing, and consolidating provision schedules
  • Research the basis for tax positions to be taken
  • Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities
  • Advise management regarding the tax impact of corporate strategies
  • Recommend tax strategies to defer or eliminate tax payments by researching federal, state, and local taxation issues
  • Coordinate audits by various taxation authorities
  • Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks
  • Various tax projects as they arise
  • Job Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; CPA preferred
    • Minimum 5 years experience in tax in corporate or public accounting
    • Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
    • Experience with income, sales/use, property, and state tax
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) required
    • Analytical thinking skills to perform analysis and develop accurate conclusions
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
