Assembler Technician Job Description

Bloom Energy, a fuel cell company and one of Silicon Valley's most promising startups, is looking for an Assembler Technician to join its world class team. This individual should be a dynamic and experienced professional who is looking for a rewarding future in one of today's most exciting technologies.

General Description:

The Assembler Technician is responsible for the assembly and integration of mechanical sub-systems used in a solid oxide fuel cell electrical power generator. This will involve working closely with a team of skilled technicians and engineers as an essential member of our always improving manufacturing team.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic job functions as directed by Shift Lead or Supervisor safely and efficiently
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and/or Work Instructions exactly as written to produce a quality product
  • Assemble electrical and mechanical assemblies
  • Will be responsible for the quality of work, and workmanship standards
  • Will be responsible for entering failure reports to improve quality
  • Will be required to work with engineering to take conceptual design to physical layout
  • Will work with system test group to trouble shoot assemblies and rework materials in order to meet system requirements
  • Must perform hand-over-hand sub-system quality checks
  • Skills Required:

  • Must demonstrate safe working conditions
  • Must be familiar with the theory and operation of mechanical components such as blowers, pumps, fans, valves, flow meters, and pressure regulators
  • Wiring and electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings, and some schematics
  • Must work at cross functional levels to solve problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
