  • Looking for qualified Sr. Software Systems Analyst to support our efforts on the NASA Engineering & Science Services and Skills Augmentation (ESSSA) contract in Huntsville, AL
  • The Sr. Software Systems Analyst will provide software insight customer support for the Space Launch Systems (SLS) Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage (ICPS) flight software development activity at Marshall Space Flight Center ES51
  • This position provides the NASA customer technical assessments of flight software products and processes to include schedules, methodologies, requirements, analyses and documentation, design and coding, configuration and data management, testing, processes, review and inspection data
  • The task requires evaluation of ongoing trade studies and work instruction packages and engineering change packages; the support of internal and external and project level reviews, working groups, vendor technical interchange meetings, peer reviews, code walkthroughs, and other project meetings associated with the software delivery life cycle
  • This position provides regular reports to the Group Lead and NASA customer Chief Engineer
  • Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience with the full life cycle of software processes and disciplines for Space Related/Man Rated software design, development, and delivery is required. 
  • Skilled in software testing and test analysis (regression, timing, failure, etc.) with a solid understanding of the configuration, build, and delivery authorization processes of software development/delivery. 
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills are essential. 
  • Understanding and knowledge of current SLS program plans and strategy is desired. 
  • Previous experience with Agile or other similar software methodologies is desired. 
  • Self-motivated, team players familiar with working in a dynamic work environment. 
  • Adept in stablishing and keeping both personal and virtual working relationships with the customer, vendors, and other contractors. 
  • Proven experience in working multiple concurrent tasks and have the ability to prioritize work to efficiently accomplish goals and objectives. 
  • Domestic travel is required, < 25% 
  • Ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing, 
  • Ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential. 
  • Education:

  • Degree in Aerospace, Software, or Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university is required
  • Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph.D. with a minimum of 8 years of experience, a Masters with at least 10 years of experience, or a BS with at least 12 years of experience. 
  • Normal workday is from 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday
  • Minimal overtime may be required (10%) to meet schedule milestones and to support technical demands of the job
  • Regular attendance is a necessity and adequate arrangements for delegating duties during absences are required
