We're currently looking for a Trim Engineering Manager to join our team in Canton, MS.

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Monitors engineering and business process and vehicle issues and reports. Ensures issues are reported within designated time frame and obtains resolution including effective field countermeasures.
  • Reviews safety related files and reports all significant issues to other vital issue committee members.
  • Confirms the timely update and maintenance of engineering database information with regard to reported issues and component part return collections.
  • Identifies potential improvements and implements new department processes, systems, and tracking processes to obtain target goals.
  • Establishes customer focused quality targets and new technology to support brand image.
  • Provides market perspective for quality and design related issues. Assists and supports quality targets which effect vehicle warranty cost and customer satisfaction.
  • Specifies, designs, and installs new process equipment; facilitates modification and maintenance of existing process equipment; implements and maintains preventative maintenance program(s) related to engineering processes.
  • Assists with new project development, and resource and budget planning within assigned areas; facilitates project folder preparation, project management, and model and capacity studies with budget development.
  • Provides emergency engineering response to daily manufacturing support problems; provides equipment maintenance and management support by monitoring equipment performance, and conducting production equipment tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Assists manufacturing on productivity, ergonomic, quality and safety issues to ensure timely problem resolution.
  • Management Accountabilities: Has nonexempt through journey-level exempt subordinates or contractors. Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development; interviews and selects unit employees.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience: Ten or more years of related professional experience.
  • Leadership Experience: Five or more years in a role exhibiting leadership and a minimum of two years providing direction to others.
  • Education: A related Engineering degree from a four-year college.
  • Computer Skills: Computer literate with strong command of MS Office applications. Experience and understanding of CAD and 3D space coordinates is highly preferred.
  • Travel: Day and overnight travel required
