Job RequirementsResponsibilities Reporting to the Architecture Manager be responsible for assigned architectural matters Working within the Group Architecture Council and with the Enterprise Architects to ensure strategic designs and governance Responsible for contributing to architectural designs and decisions, standards setting, and peer reviews Provide data architecture for major data driven projects by understanding and evaluating business requirements and translating them into specific database solutions Working with the business to achieve data governance including MDM, data dictionaries and stewardship Continuing to enhance the breadth of data underlying the corporate data lakes, data marts, cubes and warehouses, providing ease of access by data consumers whilst ensuring the data architecture strategy will meet the long term business needs Following policy, procedures, controls and processes for the architecture, development and testing life-cycle Planning the next generation(s) of the data storage, transition and MI in alignment with industry best practice Continuing to enhance the capabilities and strategies for document, content and knowledge management based around the MS SharePoint platform Developing data architecture frameworks to include MDM, data dictionaries, ownership, stewardship, mastering, lineage of data etc. Maintain documented architectures in repositories (e.g. Enterprise Architect) Technical Skills Sparxsystems Enterprise Architect experience UML modelling BPMN modelling Working knowledge of Microsoft products Understanding of Sharepoint and workflow Understanding of cloud – PaaS and SaaS technologies Biztalk/SOA Proven Hadoop capabilities Proven ability to design and architect at an enterprise commercial standard: SQL server databases, SSIS integration tasks, SSAS OLAP cubes and tasks, SSRS reports and analytics Kimball methodology Moores Stephens insurance model Strong ability to facilitate decision making and collaboration necessary for key data architecture issues within a peer group Proven ability to design and architect at an commercial standard Strong ability to provide effective communication using tools such as project plan, Enterprise Architect, status and priority reporting Strong ability to follow through on the analysis, communication and resolution of issues Readiness to provide and maintain high quality documentation to strict deadlines Experience and readiness to deliver in other areas of data architecture such as: CRM, MDM, Knowledge Management, Records Management and Archiving, Qualifications: 2+ years' experience in an Insurance or financial organization 3+ years' experience of working as a data architect in a commercial environment Strong working knowledge of data warehousing architecture, techniques, design patterns and strategies Strong technical writing capabilities Insurance data requirements and systems Strong influencing skills Excellent stakeholder management skills Excellent spoken and written English Excellent presentation skills Good task management and organizational skills Willingness to take responsibility and ownership for tasks and issues Ability to follow through on the analysis, communication and resolution of issues and problems Willingness and ability to provide and maintain high quality documentation to strict deadlines Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with various teams (BA/Developers/Support/Business) Good presentation skillsDesirable skills * Prior experience on SQL Server and features like MDS (Master Data Services) Experience in migrating data from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013.
