Job Description

Reports to: Director of Pharmacy

Primary Functions:

Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, each Pharmacist is responsible for the operations of the pharmacy, including compounding, dispensing, scheduling, purchasing, distribution, PI, and regulatory compliance. The Pharmacist may also serve as the Pharmacist-in-charge per state licensing requirements. The Pharmacist performs other duties as assigned.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Performs compounding and distribution of pharmaceutical products, ancillary supplies, and equipment
  • Ensures compliance with ARJ's PI program, licensure, and regulatory requirements as they relate to pharmacy
  • Assists in development and updating of pharmacy policies and procedures
  • Assists in the formulation of ARJ's overall goals and objectives
  • Assists in the development of ARJ's budget for pharmacy, personnel, and equipment
  • Assures appropriate clinical monitoring of patients
  • Assists in overall inventory control and purchasing
  • Assists with pharmacy inventories
  • Assists in marketing of ARJ products and services
  • Assists in obtaining/completing billing information and documentation
  • Ensures compliance with documentation requirements
  • Ensures pharmacy compliance with ARJ's policies/procedures
  • Conducts in-services as required
  • Assumes on-call responsibilities in rotation

  • Qualifications:

  • 2 years recent clinical pharmacy experience
  • Thorough knowledge of infusion therapies
  • Recent inventory management experience
  • Accuracy in mathematical calculations including pharmacokinetic dosing
  • Demonstrated compliance with aseptic technique
  • Strong inter-personal skills and communication
  • Computer proficiency

  • Educational Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution

  • Other Requirements:

  • Valid pharmacy license in state of practice

  • Reporting/Documentation Requirements:

  • Monthly pharmacy report and statistics, if required by Administrator
  • Quarterly inventory counts
  • Pharmacy PI indicators
  • Prescriptions, compounding worksheets, pick lists, drug profiles, and other documents as required by law
