Responsible for posting electronic fund transfer (EFT) payments/denials to the CPU/AS400 billing system and/or review and reconcile electronic funds transfers (EFT) deposits and electronic remittance advice (ERA) through the PARM (Payment Automation/Reconciliation Manager) application. Maintain denial spreadsheets for assigned EFT payers. Perform various duties to assist department as necessary. This is a non-exempt hourly, in house position that reports to Electronic Remittance Supervisor and/or Electronic Remittance Research Supervisor.


  • Post Electronic Payments and Denials in PARM (Payment Automation/Reconciliation Manager) application and CPU/AS400 billing system.
  • Review, prepare and balance EFT Deposits.
  • Maintain Payer spreadsheets for payer denials.
  • Follow up on outstanding and/or out of balance deposits in PARM (Payment Automation/Reconciliation Manager).
  • Research suspense accounts with ACT ERD (Electronic Remittance Department) for transfer of funds to appropriate patient accounts.
  • Contact insurance carriers and utilize payer websites to obtain necessary information for processing of EFT deposits.
  • Maintains current knowledge of payment posting practices by attending meetings, training sessions and seminars.
  • Work on special reports, projects and other duties as requested.
  • May be asked to travel locally for meetings or seminars, not exceeding 1% of time.

  • Knowledge of CPU/AS400 billing system.
  • Ability to interpret/decipher Explanation of Benefit (EOB) information and Electronic Remittance downloads.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Suite.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to perform 10-key by touch.
  • Must be able to type a minimum speed 7,000 data entry key strokes per hour with a 95% accuracy or higher.
  • Must be able to pass an Excel assessment with a score of 80% or higher.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to work within a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changes in assignments and deadline.
  • Must be able to perform all duties with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to handle fast-paced, high production environment.
