Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Drafting and formatting forms and form letters from our claims systems.
  2. Copying and sending claim file data and/or creating and sending payment history records to attorneys.
  3. Research, compile, and interpret information to prepare various reports.
  4. Maintain file folders, diaries and correspondence etc.
  5. Ensure proper state reporting and compliance by submitting timely and accurate reports.
  6. Pull files for closures, reopens, audits, special requests, diaries, priority searches, etc. and distributes them to file handlers.
  7. File claim files returned from file handlers and perform searches for misfiled and out-of-file materials.
  8. Provide back up support for other members of the Claims Operations Team.
  9. Ensure all printers, fax machines and copiers run smoothly by monitoring paper levels and requesting service calls as needed.
  10. Print and distribute reports as needed.
  11. Stays current with insurance practices through continuing education.
  12. Performs related duties as assigned.
  13. Ability to interact with others in a professional manner.
  14. Attendance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Six (6) months to one (1) year filing and typing experience.
  3. Accurate data entry skills.
  4. Communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and courteous manner.
  5. Ability to perform support work, such as filing alphabetically, data entry, transcribing, etc.
  6. Ability to review, record, and organize written or numeric data from a variety of sources within prescribed format.
  7. Ability to apply math skills, including decimals and percentages.
  8. Ability to recognize identical or repetitive problems and apply a prescribed solution or procedure.
  9. Ability to understand and follow job-related instructional guides (procedure, policy manuals, catalogs, etc.).
  10. Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, lift up to 25 pound boxes; sitting and standing variables.
  11. Must be able to perform this job safely, without endangering the health or safety of him/herself or others.
  12. Computer literate with Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  13. Sit, stand, walk/ambulatory.
  14. Ability to lift 10 pounds.
