Job Description Grade:

  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquires accurately.
  • Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
  • Work as a team, assisting with all guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiries.
  • Oversee daily restaurant reservations, pre-assigning seating where necessary.
  • Greet in a positive, welcoming manner as they arrive.
  • Escort guests to tables and assist in seating at tables; present menus and extending congeniality in accordance to department guidelines.
  • Bid farewell to guests, using their name when known and encouraging them to return.
  • Maintain general tidiness of podium area where necessary.
  • Answer telephone and direct calls where necessary.
  • Shut down podium and forward phones to voice-loop at end of shift.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service. Procedures/ standards.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Prepare station chart and assign stations to staff following departmental procedures.
  • Guide the Servers and Bus persons in table set-up needs to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Communicate V.I.P. arrivals and special requests to designated personnel for follow up
  • Complete closing duties as assigned.
  • Performs all other job related duties as requested.
  • Required:

  • At least 2 years of hosting experience in a similar dining environment.
  • At least 1 year of guest service experience.
  • Working knowledge of computers and reservations systems.
  • Working knowledge of health, sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a similar resort setting.
  • Job Requirements
