Job Summary
This position is responsible for establishing and coordinating all aspects of the human resources function, including recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, payroll processes, compensation and benefits, safety and affirmative action.
Formulates and implements recruitment plan. Recruits prospective employees and coordinates the selection process; ensuring all interviews, background checks and related processes are completed in a timely and legally sound basis. Maintains accurate confidential employee records, including job descriptions and related forms. Assists with exit interviews as requested and ensures termination and transfer paperwork is completed; tracks and analyzes employee turnover and retention rates quarterly. Conducts new employee general orientation, and staff training. Coordinates performance appraisals process, performance improvement plans and corrective actions in a legal manner on a timely basis. Addresses employee concerns and directs employees to appropriate internal and external resources as needed and requested. Coordinates investigations as necessary. Communicates information on the Society Employee Assistance Program (EAP), the Fair Treatment Policy, the employee handbook, educational assistance programs and recognition programs to all staff on a regular basis. Assists with celebrations, employee relations events. Assures salary grids are current. Directs staff to appropriate web portal site for information on benefits. Monitors leaves of absence, disabilities and other employee events to assure appropriate benefit action and compliance. Coordinates record keeping for Family Medical Leave. Works with Safety Committee, coordinates the drug testing program and maintains accurate, up-to-date OSHA log at all times. Assists as necessary with workers compensation claim coordination. Develop and communicate goals and objectives for the affirmative action plan. Addresses problem areas and completes audit paperwork to designated agencies as needed. Conduct or coordinate EEO/AA training and meetings.

2-3 years human resources or related experience and/or a college degree in Human Resources re related field. Certified PHR or SPHR desired.
Must be able to communicate with a diverse employee and resident population; must be self-motivated, extremely organized and have good planning abilities;
Knowledge of state and federal employment laws is highly desired.

This position includes on-call responsibility for coordinating medical treatment for staff when after-hour work-related injuries occur.
