GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

The Shipper and Receiver I performs various material handling duties in a specified area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operates in a safe manner, and in accordance to all company policies and procedures.
  • Receives inbound transfers.
  • Operates powered pallet jack, forklift and/or reach truck. Inspects daily, charges batteries, maintains battery water level, and changes batteries as necessary.
  • Delivers raw materials, packaging and pallets to the appropriate production areas.
  • Moves finished goods and work-in-progress from production lines to the shipping area.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Pulls and puts away materials in appropriate warehouse locations.
  • Covers and stretch-wraps pallets.
  • Ensures assigned production lines are continuously stocked with clean raw materials and packaging.
  • Records movement transactions in the ROSS system.
  • Records food safety (HACCP) information on appropriate forms.
  • Ensures all raw materials and finished goods are labeled correctly.
  • Keeps areas clean and organized according to 5S principles.
  • Reports any damages, discrepancies, unsafe behaviors, and risks to Lead.
  •  KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to obtain a reach truck, forklift and pallet jack operator license by AdvancePierre Foods standards, and continue to operate them safely.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and push up to 100 lbs.
