PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Builds and maintains quality business relationships with independent agents usually via telephone contact. Provides high quality customer contacts. Assists field staff in prospecting of agencies. Orients and trains new and existing agents in Company programs and rating software platform. Encourages existing agencies to increase new business sales and to improve overall level of profitability for the Company. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES:
*1. Initiates contact with agents and others as assigned to communicate and gather information.
*2. Researches and interprets business results for assigned states. Conduct research and reports agent/agency needs and issues to management to improve service and increase sales.
*3. Communicates Company programs and features to agents in order to build agency relationships. Learns and demonstrates knowledge of and follows procedures related to Company marketing philosophy and plans, underwriting/pricing and philosophy, pricing policies and programs and general insurance knowledge.
*4. Make recommendations to resolve issues, improve service and increase sales.
*5. Provides continuing education to agents regarding Company products, programs, underwriting guidelines and pricing philosophy.
*6. Classifies agents according to business potential and allocates sales time to maximize this potential. Monitors performance to plan and reports results as assigned.
*7. Monitor progress toward production commitments and develop action plans in situations with low production.
*8. Prospects for qualified professional agents and assists in developing an orientation plan to ensure the success of new appointments.
*9. Participates in continuing education activities through related professional and college courses, attendance at Company sponsored seminars and other insurance functions.
10. Performs all other duties as assigned.
*11. Must have regular predictable attendance.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Four-year (4) college degree or six (6) months marketing or sales experience required.
2. Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
3. Working knowledge of use of PC/software program including, but not limited to, spreadsheet and word processing software.
4. Must display an uncompromising daily commitment to the core values of honesty, loyalty, integrity and professionalism. SPECIAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. This position may require participating in marketing/sales blitz activities. Some overnight travel may be required and may at times be travelling out of state approximately 10% of the time. 2. Overtime may be required with little notice.
