Primary Purpose:
This position manages product maturity at the part commodity level while interfacing between MBUSI and R&D (Germany). Support the localization efforts by reviewing set specifications for local market feasibility. Ensures design intent is achieved and maintained within the product manufacturing process.
Essential Functions: 
Collaborate with Development department to review the set specifications and advise modifications required by the local market without affecting the quality of the product.
Accept design responsibility for selected commodities after SOP and perform the release process for necessary design changes.
Administer releases for product function portion of PPAP.
Support local product testing and part approval for selected commodities.
Identify critical issues as input to R&D utilizing the lessons learned process through regular meetings and workshops.
Be the responsible contact for internal departments and component suppliers, regarding part development related topics.
Analyze specific development problems and provide solutions in form of long-& short-term countermeasures with R&D.
Initiate product change requests (PAEV) and product deviation requests (PDR) systems.
Support the change management process (support suppliers, release-preparation and maintain/check the related documentation).  Simultaneously communicates with the relevant R&D partners as required.
Support of supplier industrialization and part issue root cause analysis. Support of new model launches and series production as they relate to locally supplied parts.
Execute Documents and processes in the associated product release systems NCM/ACM, ZEUS, PDRS, START, and SMARAGD, and CAD -NX to support product maturity.
Further essential functions are described in current annual plan / goal agreements.

Performs other related duties as required.
Available to travel to Suppliers & Daimler facilities worldwide as required.
Job RequirementsEducation, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position. 
Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related area and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:  A minimum of 3 years of experience in the area of development/design or product engineering relative to area of responsibility.
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.: 
Product development experience and active knowledge of the product development process
Ability to use data processing tools (PC based) and Daimler documentation & release systems such as SMARAGD, DIALOG, NCM, ZEUS, PDR, CAD, etc. 
Possess the ability to read and interpret product drawings.
Demonstration of being highly motivated, independent and possess the ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Skills: 
Daimler development and release experience.
CAD skills
German language skills
