Job Description Infection Control\:  The Director shall be responsible for planning, administering and monitoring systems and procedures related to the detection and control of infectious micro-organisms and the direction of educational, training, and orientation programs for personnel related to Infection Control.  Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services the Infection Control Practitioner manages the Infection Control Program for the hospital, performing surveillance investigations, developing policies and procedures, preparing reports and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and regulatory agencies.Employee Health\:  Responsible for coordinating health services for all employees and for the development and implementation of policies and procedures in this area.  Responsible for interviewing, assessing, reassessing, follow-up and referrals as needed.  Coordinate/administrate hospital wide immunizations/inoculations to prevent spread of communicable diseases.  Responsible for monitoring employees health to protect both patients and employees.  Directs the administration of the Workers' Compensation Program. Primary duty of performing office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of the employer or the employer's customers.  Primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment regarding matters of significance.
Job RequirementsEducation\:  Graduate of a state approved accredited school of nursing; prefer BSN or other related healthcare degree. Completion of a basic training program for infection control or national certification preferred.Experience\:  Possess a minimum of 2 years experience in a health care institution and minimum of one year in Infection Control practice or certification by the Certification Board for Infection Control. Licenses/Certificates\:  Must possess and maintain New Mexico RN license and BLS certification. Certification in Infection control is desirable.
