As part of our continued growth and recent partnership with Valley Anesthesiology Consultants, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ, we currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Front Desk Coordinator I. This person will be based out of and work from the Valley Anesthesiology Consultants, Inc. Central Phoenix Pain Office in Phoenix, AZ.

The Front Desk Coordinator I is responsible for a variety of business and clerical related tasks designed to facilitate the smooth flow of patients and work throughout the organization.


Essential Functions include:

  • Greets, screens, registers, schedules and discharges patients in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner.
  • Provides timely & accurate information to management, physicians, & team members
  • Books, coordinates and reschedules patients appointments. Relays necessary messages to staff.
  • Verifies necessary demographic information and records in patient medical record
  • Collect co-pays and document appropriately
  • Maintains and updates current information on schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmedFollow up phone calls to all patients that missed appointment and reschedule as appropriate.
  • Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages and provides information
  • Assembles patient charts for next day visit. Updates profile on all patients.
  • Verifies medical insurance coverage and documents benefit information.
  • Oversees waiting area, coordinate patient movement, reports problems or irregularities.
  • Acts as a patient relations representative by answering patient inquires either in person or on the telephone within the limits of his/her knowledge and medical practice policies,
  • Coordinate scheduling of new patients with referring physician and patient. Mail out new patient package prior to appointment
  • Maintains computer files and assists in establishing office systems,
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Performs other tasks as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Shift:

    Monday - Friday

    7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

    Location: Valley Pain Consultants – Central Phoenix 1331 N. 7th St. Suite 355 Phoenix, AZ 85006

    Job Requirements


    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
    • Usage of computer equipment.
    • One (1) to two (2) years experience in a medical office, clinic or other healthcare setting preferred.
    • Completion of recognized medical secretarial program preferred.
    • Excellent Customer Service skills required.
    • Professional attitude, superb dependability and excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
    • Highly proficient computer skills including MS office suite and EMR environment/experience preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and telephone skills essential.
    • Able to work independently, problem solve and take initiative, with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Experience communicating with health care professionals along with handling and maintaining confidential information.
    • Able to prioritize, multi-task and stay focused due to frequent interruptions.
    • Able to use a considerable amount of independent judgment.
    • Able to read and interpret documents; self-manage time with minimal supervision; and handle sensitive, private information with confidentiality and diplomacy.
    • Accuracy and timeliness are key.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Strong work ethic, with a high degree of flexibility, reliability, and punctuality
