This position is centered on providing Quality Engineering Support within plant operations for the laser, bending, forming, and punching of sheet metal parts. The Fabrication Quality Engineer is responsible for performing problem analysis of critical processes along with machine capability and processes. Additional responsibilities include directing process control technicians assigned to fabrication area of responsibility.

  • Job Requirements

    1. Knowledge/Experience:

    • 2-5 years of general manufacturing experience in a related position preferred
    • Ability to interpret technical prints and GD&T required
    • Part inspection with experience creating quality control plans preferred
    • Strongly prefer experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
    • Must have experience with statistics and how statistics are applied to a factory environment

    2. Skills and Abilities:

    • The ideal candidate must be a 'hands on' contributor with strong background in sheet metal processing and part inspection preferred.
    • Ability to use spreadsheets, database, word processing software, particularly MS Office products
    • Must have ability to prepare data entry screens and sort/index data searches
    • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements
    • Excellent problem-solving ability and mechanical aptitude

    3. Education:

    • Associates Degree in Engineering or Technology is required
    • Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Technology, with some background in Industrial or Mechanical Technology is preferred

    4. Physical Requirements:

    • Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting
    • Some traveling may be required
