Job Description


The Project Accountant will report directly to the Project Manager and correspondingly to the Corporate Controller. The Project Accountant will be responsible for completing general administrative, accounting and clerical tasks related to the project.  The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and a quick learner.  The candidate must have excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, time management, and computer skills.


•        Data entry, including owner billings, subcontracts, change orders, purchase orders, and journal entries

•        Execute Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes

•        Review purchase order, subcontractor and vendor invoices for approval and payment

•        Ensure that all daily timesheets are processed in a timely manner

•        Process Certified Payroll documentation as required by the Owner

•        Month end close process

•        Provide monthly Financial reporting to project manager

•        Ensure timely/accurate scanning and indexing of all correspondence/documents

•        Create and maintain organized files

•        Ensure accuracy of general ledger

•        Assist with billing and requisitions

•        Work closely with project manager and external partners including subcontractors and superintendents

•        Setup field office with the assistance of the Project Engineer

•        Maintains office equipment and office supplies

•        Welcome on-site visitors; determine nature of business, and direct visitors to appropriate personnel

•        Answer and direct incoming telephone calls



•        Associate Degree or higher in Accounting/Finance or equivalent is required

•        Minimum 2-3 years administration or office experience is required

•        Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

•        Ability to work at the project (field) and corporate offices

•        Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment

•        Ability to work at multiple project locations

•        Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively with minimum supervision

•        Ability to multi-task and prioritize work load

•        Must possess strong organizational skills with attention to detail

      •        Applicant must possess excellent communicative skills
