Education: MD or DO
Training: Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency training program in family medicine and/or an AOA-approved training program in family practice and osteopathic manipulative treatment.
Certification: Within three years of completion of an approved residency in family medicine, certification by the American Board of Family Medicine or in family practice and osteopathic manipulative treatment by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
