We are currently seeking an Intern to assist our Marketing group in Cedar Rapids, IA. The Intern is responsible for completing assigned tasks under the direct supervision of the Marketing Director and Marketing Specialists. This Intern is expected to apply the concepts learned through required education, and common sense to solve specific tasks as assigned. Seeks guidance from more senior staff and applies acquired knowledge to related assignments. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supporting the marketing department with qualification statements, proposal development, preparation of forms and presentations, including formatting, research, forms preparation, materials gathering and organization, production and logistics.
Coordinating production and distribution of marketing communications material including advertising, direct mail campaigns, newsletters, data sheets, client case studies, white papers, email marketing, web content and other related marketing communications activities.
Organizing, updating and maintaining existing materials as needed.
Administering and maintaining marketing information systems including Deltek Vision CRM.
Assisting with maintaining and updating mailing/e-mail contact lists in Deltek Vision CRM.
Generating standard marketing reports including hit rate reports, proposal logs, master schedules and progress tracking reports for tradeshows, advertising and marketing communications programs and various other sales and marketing reports. Updating Vision CRM data to support reporting requirements.
Acting as a data entry resource to other users of the CRM and marketing information systems.
Relieving marketing leadership of administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, mail, coordination with finance/accounts payables and outside vendors, coordinating internal meeting logistics, and other general tasks/activities in support of marketing department operations.
Participating as an active team member to assist the entire marketing department to meet the goals of the department as well as the goals of the company.
Education and/or Experience
The Marketing Intern must be currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program in Graphics/Communications/Marketing or similar.
Must have good written and oral communications skills and organizational skills.
Must have strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office programs and willingness/ability to learn CRM (Deltek Vision).
Must be detail-oriented and meet high standards for quality.
Must have the ability to work within a team, build relationships and work effectively with business development/sales and technical staff while also being able to independently plan, organize, coordinate and follow through on assignments.
High energy and enthusiasm are desired!
Physical Demands Work is primarily performed in the office with occasional trips to a client’s site or other locations as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for prolonged period of time, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands or arms. Hand eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and other office equipment. The employee is also required to kneel, crouch, and bend.
