The right candidate for this role can handle a wide array of projects and multiple assignments. Current projects in the Twin Cities metropolitan area include ReThinking I-94 Corridor Study, and MnPASS and Toll operations.   The selected candidate will think creatively and critically about planning issues, team assignments, and business development.     Job Duties Include:
  • Leading project tasks and/or managing transportation planning and/or
  • Developing and maintaining project scopes, schedules and budgets
  • Coordinating and/or preparing technical reports
  • Participating and coordinating public and stakeholder public meetings and public participation/outreach processes
  • Working with clients and agencies to identify and develop pursuits
  • Serving as project manager or task leader in major projects
  • Preparing, editing, formatting and producing technical reports and displays
  • Staying abreast of planning policies, procedures and legislation and assist in interpreting their applicability to specific situations and projects
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Job Requirements
    Education Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, planning or closely related field 
    Experience/Skills Required:
    • Ability to effectively present and communicate ideas orally and in written form
    • Critical, strategic and creative thinking skills
    • Excellent project/task management skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
    • Successful experience working with Departments of Transportation, transit agencies, and/or local municipalities
    • Computer skills (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, GIS)
    • Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible relevant experience (within the Twin Cities region is a plus)
    • Experience with transportation planning projects, including transit, and multimodal planning
    • An understanding of varied projects and processes such as corridor studies, master plans, transit plans, feasibility studies, statewide and regional transportation plans, planning reports and other analyses 
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Professional registration is preferred (AICP or PE)
