Job Description

The Supervisor for International Tax Reporting will be responsible for preparing and reviewing U.S. GAAP financial accounting and reporting requirements, internal and external, for Non-U.S. Income Taxes. The Supervisor must be able to demonstrate a knowledge of U.S. GAAP rules governing accounting of Income Taxes as provided for under ASC 740 and U.S. corporate tax principles. Knowledge of non-U.S. tax regimes and U.S. GAAP rules governing the U.S. accounting for non-U.S. operations is preferred but not required. The Supervisor must also demonstrate the ability to independently perform daily job functions with limited supervision.

What will I be doing?

The Supervisor for International Tax Reporting will need an awareness of all governmental and lender imposed deadlines, as well as internal deadlines including, but not limited to, those imposed by Corporate Accounting for financial reporting, and will need to establish a work plan for timely completion. The Supervisor will work with a team of tax professionals in the U.S. and in foreign jurisdictions to complete the financial reporting tasks required in the job function. Additional responsibilities include support to the Director of Tax Reporting in achieving timely and accurate department filing and reporting obligations, as well as other Tax Accounting projects as assigned.

Other key priorities are listed below:

  • Tax Accounting Activities:
  • Prepare and analyze non-U.S. tax provisions and true-ups
  • Prepare non-U.S. income tax payable reconciliation and related reporting
  • Assist with data collection and tax calculation for foreign jurisdictions to meet U.S. GAAP standards
  • Complete other monthly, quarterly and annual tax accounting and reporting tasks as assigned
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Director of Tax Reporting
  • Collaborate with resources in the U.S., UK, and Singapore to accomplish efficient tax reporting processes
  • Foreign Creditable Taxes Activities:
  • Assist in the preparation of the company's foreign creditable tax position
  • Maintain IRS exam audit ready support for all creditable taxes
  • Organizing Activities:
  • Assist in the preparation of GAAP, lender, and internal financial reporting matters for the company as assigned
  • Follow entity changes across non-U.S. jurisdictions, maintain and update the foreign entity tracker, and communicate impact to U.S. GAAP tax accounting positions to supervisors in a timely manner
  • Liaise with foreign offices and service providers to obtain information required for financial reporting
  • Collaborate with Tax Reporting, Tax Operations, and Tax Technology Team Members to streamline business processes within the tax department
  • Planning Activities:
  • Assist with research for new transactions, understand the company's planned position for income tax purposes, and account for and document such tax positions consistent with GAAP

  • What are we looking for?

    To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of four (4) years of Corporate or Public Accounting experience
  • Computer proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to interpret the company's books and records and transactional accounting
  • General understanding of U.S. GAAP rules
  • General understanding of the Internal Revenue Code, and demonstrate the ability to apply tax rules to the company's U.S. GAAP financials
  • Experience with the preparation of U.S. corporate income tax returns, with an understanding of book and tax differences
  • Working knowledge of balance sheet-focused analysis of deferred tax items
  • Experience with full tax life cycle (cash tax calculations, tax provision, return to provision, etc.)
  • Ability to research, understand, and document tax technical positions utilizing available research software (RIA, BNA, CCH)
  • It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • MA/MS Master's Degree
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to analyze complex accounting processes and systems for tax consequences
  • Non-U.S. jurisdictional tax research and reporting experience
  • Computer proficiency with corporate financials (HFM, PeopleSoft)
  • Experience with tax provision software systems
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
