A position is available in the Thoracic OncologyResearch Laboratory of the Norton Thoracic Institute at St. Joseph"s Hospitaland Medical Center. The candidate shouldhave familiarity and experience with basic molecular biology protocolsincluding nucleic acid isolation, PCR, and Western blot analysis. The candidate should have familiarity withbasic computer software programs (MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Excel, andIllustrator) and good organizational skills (keeping a detailed lab notebook,etc.). Experience in protein detection by both Western blot analysis andimmunohistochemistry is desirable. The willingness to work with smallpre-clinical models is required. Candidates with experience with pre-clinicalmodel procedures, including maintenance and implantation of primary tumor tissueinto immune compromised pre-clinical models, is extremely desirable.

B.A. or B.S. in appropriate science-related field.Performs complex and novel procedures as a laboratory professional under the general supervision of a laboratory head, using proven scientific methods. Oversees or executes work pertaining to clerical matters such as equipment, supply and/or other material inventory, purchasing and/or maintenance.
Two (2) years prior experience in a research, clinical, or other scientific environment required. Four (4) years of prior experience in a research, clinical, or other scientific environment preferred. Bachelor"s degree required. Familiar with laboratory techniques. Working knowledge of the scientific method. Demonstrates an ability to continually improve performance preferred. Familiar with basic computer skills required.
