Job Description

General Description of Position: Responsible for residential and commercial product lifecycle management and product development. Responsible for strategic direction and position as well as the details of the technical and systems requirements that shape the final customer experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Builds and executes comprehensive product lifecycle plans including product positioning strategies.
  • Translates new technologies and market requirements into product design including development and management of business requirements documentation.
  • Manages new product launches including project plan creation, project risk assessment and mitigation, issue tracking and resolution.
  • Provides thought leadership and technical/development expertise for price adjustments and new product development.
  • Guides product pricing by monitoring industry trends and developing competitive market analysis.
  • Creates market-specific financial analysis and supporting business cases to determine market requirements relative to product price points, new services and new features or other products or product enhancements.
  • Evaluates and modifies business processes and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce expenses, optimize profitability and maintain budget adherence.
  • Ensures that all products and services are properly aligned with strategic corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for product line training including conducting needs assessments, curriculum development, product line training delivery and building and maintaining training materials.
  • Manages plans and timeframes for lifecycle maintenance and product development activities to meet or exceed targeted completion dates.
  • Ensures current and accurate system documentation.
  • Facilitates user acceptance and operational readiness testing.
  • Collaborates with cross functional team to maximize effectiveness of product marketing efforts and strategies.
  • Produces reports, timelines, flow charts and graphics.
  • Works closely with sales, marketing and senior leadership to align the product portfolio with strategic business goals.
  • Manages and coordinates the efforts of cross-functional teams - including Network Engineering, Application Engineering, Sales, Regulatory, Finance and Business Sales Support, etc. - and each of the deliverables required to bring new products and product enhancements to market.
  • Provides leadership and collaborates across the organization in the pursuit of business objectives with key partners.
  • Trains and coaches employees to achieve high performance; measures employee performance against goals and makes appropriate employment decisions.
  • Creates strategies to ensure employee engagement and optimizes employee performance.
  • Communicates company and departmental performance, policy, and all other information to direct reports, employees, and management.
  • Monitors and controls budgets.
  • Delivers product sales and forecasts based on brand strategies, marketing programs and corporate operational objectives.
  • Supports sales leaders to the successful achievement of their annual goals and ensures products are aligned to Company strategy.
  • Analyzes and interprets strategies and outcomes and takes appropriate action.
  • Ensures completion of market analysis and monitors competitive activity. Identifies and uses customer insights.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 8-10 years' experience of increasing responsibility in product management and development capacity; telecommunications industry experience required
  • 3+ years' of direct people management/leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Effective prioritization, implementation and monitoring of company's goals and objectives.
  • Capable of designing and implementing employee training and development.
  • High level problem analysis and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong communication skills to persuade others, articulate a point of view, and set direction.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient use of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
