Job Description Project Architect
Position Description:
The Project Architect is responsible for directing an architectural design team in development of architectural-based projects throughout the entire project cycle from initial concept through successful completion.  The Project Architect manages the organization, control, integration and completion of a design project to ensure that the goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with the scope, budget and schedule.  The Project Architect is also responsible for coordination with necessary support disciplines with respect to the development of the project. The Project Architect demonstrates the ability to apply advanced architectural principles, theories and concepts of design and develops creative, cost effective solutions to complex building designs.
Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the design, technical and management interface on assigned projects.
  • Develops and monitors project engineering schedules, budgets, and forecasts including Middough Work Process tools.
  • Reviews project/architectural deliverables for compliance with accepted design principles, company standards and customer contract specifications.
  • Works directly with client to market, scope, estimate and execute architectural-based single and multi-discipline consulting work on a continuous basis.
    Job Requirements
    • 5+years of direct architectural experience obtained from a professional A/E firm
    • Experience in Laboratory, Higher Education or Public sector work a plus
    • Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture
    • Professional architectural registration or the ability to secure registration
    • Generates drawings BIM software.
    • LEED AP credentials a plus
    • NCARB certification a plus
    • Construction document preparation including comprehensive construction administration
    • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards
    • Experience with and general knowledge of contract and liability issues
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

    • When working outside Middough’s office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by Middough and/or Client, as required.
