Job RequirementsKey Accountabilities Projects and Development – 70% Responsible for data modeling, Cognos framework modeling, & group report development to develop and maintain group capability to report on data from multiple, disparate insurance and financial systems. Focusing on quality, timeliness, and group policies & standards Develop new and maintain existing Transact-SQL scripts, procedures, & functions Work with other team members to ensure that all objectives and commitments are fulfilled in line with expectations, agreements and standards Support new initiatives and/or recommendations to improve the systems environment Partner and collaborate with others to ensure smooth functioning and implementation of initiatives and new projects Maintain consistency in processes and follow guidelines as laid out by team standards Work on escalations and high priority items as directed by management Monitor and report on progress on tasks assigned –through TFS Partner with management team and other modellers in coming up with new standards and procedures Follow policy, procedures, controls and processes for the development and testing life-cycle Delivery of all tasks to be the quality of excellence upheld by System Support – 20% Work on system issues, bugs and enhancements Support existing systems, models, reports, and analytics Prioritize and coordinate handling of level-3 support requests and/or major incidents Analyse and resolve system issues Able to communicate with users / team members to coordinate and manage tickets Resolve and deliver fixes in timely manner Thorough testing of all changes prior to delivery Follow-through and diligence on all high priority items Team Initiatives and Policies – 10% Help team with development and implementation of initiatives as identified throughout the year Help develop and document Standards, Templates and Practices for best outputs from the team Participate in Team Tasks such as: Peer review of other team members code Use of TFS to track all changes Use of SharePoint to share all team and project documents Adherence to source control guidelines and systems In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require. Experience: 2-3 years experience, preferably in a finance or insurance related field Experience working on large, long-term projects Experience developing complex queries against relational databases 2-3 years experience, developing reporting & analytic packages Knowledge: 2-3 years experience, developing Transact-SQL scripts, procedures, and functions Experience working with SQL Server Integration Services packages Experience using a data modelling tool, preferably Enterprise Architect Knowledge of waterfall and agile development methodologies 2-3 years experience, designing & developing data models 2-3 years experience, Cognos framework and report development General Skills / Attributes: Experience working with teams spanning time zones, cultures, and languages Knowledge of development techniques, design patterns and strategies Self-motivated and work independently with little management oversight Works well with other team members and has strong, clear written and oral communication skills* To apply send resume to [Click Here to Email Your Resumé]
