Job Description

Accountable for the entire GATC Warehouse Quality Management System. Accountable for the implementation, maintenance, sustainability, and ongoing continuous process improvement of the QMS. Responsible for all internal and external audits.

  • Responsible for the entire TL9000 Quality System including but not limited to the: Quality Manual, Quality Policy, Quality Goals, processes, procedures, requirements, quality website, training records, training checklists, etc.
  • Responsible for producing all quality documents
  • Responsible for overseeing all quality related items for GATC warehouse
  • Responsible for ensuring all new processes are implemented using quality processes to prevent future errors
  • Responsible for detecting, documenting, and ensuring any non-conformance responses are addressed and actions are taken to prevent future errors
  • Responsible for implementation of all internal and external quality audits
  • Conduct internal quality audits
  • Assist in all external audits
  • Responsible for submitting metric reports on-time each month
  • Responsible for conducting Monthly quality meetings to keep all employees and management informed
  • Responsible for conducting Quarterly Management Review Meetings
  • Responsible for PID (Product Inspection Documents) and NPT (New Product Testing) quality
  • Recruit, Select, Orientate and Train Quality Assurance staff
  • Responsible for the performance management of the Quality Assurance staff
  • Responsible for planning, monitoring, and reviewing Quality Assurance staff performance
  • Maintain certification in the latest ISO and TL standards as an internal or external auditor
  • Responsible for the quality of all processes for GATC warehouses
  • Active participation in Continuous Improvement and Quest Workshops
  • Monitor, record and approve all time records for staff
  • Ensure company policies are communicated, applied and enforced (i.e. accounting, operational, safety, regulatory and administrative
  • Other Duties as assigned

  • Minimimum 5+ years experience in Quality Management
  • Proficient and efficient in all Microsoft Suites including Outlook
  • Proven organization skills with attention to detail, ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with competing demands.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels in support of customer relationships
  • Ability to meet strict time frames in environments with zero tolerance for failure
  • A commitment to continuous improvement in an ever-changing industry
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and high integrity
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Ability to develop a team
  • Great Plans and Red Prairie experience strongly preferred
  • Must be flexible and available to include nights, weekend and holidays based on customer/business need.
  • Education Requirements:

  • Must hold a BA Degree or
  • Be ISO and TL 9000 Certified Internal or External Auditor or
  • Equivalent work experience
  • Physical Requirements:

  • Employee must frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
