Job Description Summary: This position manages a team of Customer Category Managers (CCMs) and is actively involved with advising retailer(s) and Sales team(s) on all category-centric and shopper-centric needs required to drive sales volume, distribution, and advancing customer relations. Manages diverse team of CCM's and is actively involved in delivering timely and actionable Category Leadership at retail by providing managerial expertise, project leadership and actionable insights and recommendations that drive category/brand growth. Applies expert knowledge of category/shopper insights into strategy-focused and actionable long-term sales initiatives that deliver Tyson and retailer objectives: Identifies and quantifies opportunities and strategies for macro-space, assortment optimization, aisle and/or department reinvention, category adjacencies, promotion optimization, and pricing. This role works closely with Sales Team and Executive Leadership and actively develops and participates in Top-to-Top's, Category Business Plans, customer Category Reviews, Business Reviews and Senior Retail Management facing content, with the support of CCM's and various team members. Provides management, skills assessment and OTJ development to direct reports (CCM's). Demonstrated Skills: Leadership, Out of the box thinking, Strategic Customer Experience, Sense of urgency and prioritization, Fresh and Packaged category experience
Education: BA degree in related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 7+ years of experience in Category Management, Sales, and/or Consumer Insights. Food industry experience a plus.
Special Skills: Strong experience managing diverse people, skillsets and comprehensive/proactive project management; strong ability to leverage creative thinking; advanced analytics and insights capabilities utilizing retailer data sources, syndicated data and internal (proprietary) data. Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel.
Travel: Approximately 25%
