Job Description


This individual performs a combination of tasks to construct high quality custom control panels for industrial machines.


  • Position and align control components onto an electrical back panel as specified by electrical assembly drawings or layouts.  Mount components, such as transformers, control relays, circuit breakers, drives and power supplies onto back panel using a variety of means.

  • Wire electrical panel using wiring diagrams, schematics and wire lists.  Perform final assembly inspection to ensure production specifications and standards are met.

  • Install finished panels into electrical cabinets.  Integrate and wire these systems into new machine builds.  Connect machine to in-coming power.

  • Conduct functional tests to verify proper machine/ panel operation. 

  • Assist in building mechanical component and machines as required.

  • Provide electrical troubleshooting and maintenance support for Machine Shop and Facilities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Job Requirements


    • Applicant must be capable of reading, interpreting & following schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.

    • Must be capable of safely using a Digital Multi-meter, soldering iron and a variety of hand and power tools.

    • Must be detail-oriented, organized, be a self-starter, work independently and as part of a team.  Accurately follow oral instructions and written policies and procedures in time sensitive situations..

    • Strong mathematical skills required for wire capacities and load ratings.   


    • Technical certification preferred.

    • Must have two years hands-on industrial electrical control panel build experience.
