As a Unit Secretary you will assist in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the activities occurring in the nursing station by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area. Transcribe and transmit doctor's orders to appropriate areas under supervision of a registered nurse, and confer with team leader regarding scheduling patient's activities and test. Assist physicians to retrieve patient data from medical record. Perform clerical functions for the nursing unit within the Unite Secretary's sphere of responsibility. Answer telephone and intercom, take messages, and communicate messages to the appropriate person. Assist patients and visitors in nursing unit as needed.
As a Monitor Technician you will recognize, report and manage EKG arrhythmia data to the nurse and patient medical record as assigned. May require access to storage areas where medications are kept and carry out procedures that require the use of non-prescription medications.
Requirements:Education: Successful completion of a monitor tech (CCT) course from an accredited organization required. Experience: 1 year CCT experience is required if they do not meet the monitor tech training requirements above. Computer experience is required. Licensure, Registry, or Certification: Current CPR required prior to start date directly through the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the military. (To register: Blended Learning or In Person CPR AED through the American Red Cross; or Classroom or Skills Session Heartsaver CPR AED through the American Heart Association. Certification must include an in-person skills session.) Special Training: Must possess skills necessary to care for patients. Successful completion of support staff orientation is required.
