Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce Inc. is immediately seeking early career NOC Technicians to join a 24x7x365 route/switch operations center supporting a US federal government branch in Raleigh, North Carolina (NC).Summary:They are looking for strong team players to be the tier 1 client-facing incident handler focusing on external customer support and proactive monitoring of customers' networks. Candidates must possess great communication skills & the ability to explain complex solutions in a simple way. The successful candidate will have proven ability to resolve complex technical problems, multitask, and be dedicated to customer success. A willingness to adapt, overcome and succeed in a constantly changing business and technical environment is necessary.Responsibilities:
  • Function as first point of contact for incidents and service requests from end users
  • Appropriately categorize, prioritize, and escalate incidents and service requests which they cannot resolve
  • Customer/Technology wide impact analysis
  • Solve product and network problems of low complexity
  • Create and assign help desk tickets based on incoming email and phone requests
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Selected applicants must be a U.S. Citizen and have a Top Secret (TS) U.S. Government Security Clearance
    • Core Cisco Route/Switch tier 1 support experience specifically looking at 3800, 3900 Series Routers, 3750 switches, and circuit types to include DS1, DS3, T1, etc.
    • Must be located in the Research Triangle Park, NC area or willing to relocate to that area
    • Experience in Service Desk or customer support role
    • Demonstrated experience using service desk management system to generate and track incidents
    • 1+ years of progressively responsible experience in help/service desk operations
    • 1+ years supporting Cisco route/switch products
    • ITIL Foundation v3 certification, preferred
    • Relevant IT Certifications (MCP, A+, CCNA, etc.) or equivalent experience
    • Candidate must demonstrate strong collaboration skills and be effective in working within a team environment
    • Knowledge sharing amongst the team members is paramount
    • Preference give to those willing to work evenings and weekends
