Job Description Valley View Medical Center

The Therapy Supervisor provides support and leadership in day to day operations for the Therapy Department (Outpatient and

Inpatient); assists with preparation of annual goals and departmental budget; attends hospital and community meetings as

appropriate, reviews policies and procedures for department services , including administrative, clinical and assists the Director

as needed; orients and trains new and continuing staff regarding scope and needs of the therapy department; participates in

continuing education programs to enhance skills and knowledge; and, performs other duties as assigned.

● Attend hospital and community meetings as appropriate,

● Reviews policies and procedures for department services, including administrative and clinical.

● Will assist the Director as needed;

● Will orient and train new and continuing staff regarding scope and needs of the therapy department;

● Will participate in continuing education programs to enhance skills and knowledge and develop educational

opportunities for Therapy staff as needed.

● Must possess the ability to delegate tasks to subordinate team members and oversee their performance.

● Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

● Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients,

families and other contacts.

● Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment.

● Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

● Must possess the ability to prioritize work and to be aware of multiple time frames, and to perform the essential duties

of the position.

● Must administer, organize and plan the activities of the department to ensure effective therapy evaluations and

treatments for inpatients of all age groups, and cultural backgrounds,

● Must interpret hospital and departmental policies to staff.

● Must be able to analyze and resolve employee problems.

● Must ensure employees are provided with the necessary equipment and supplies to perform their responsibilities and

ensure that work is completed in an accurate and cost effective manner.

● Must possess the ability to use the following equipment: Telephone / Overhead Paging System / Fax Machine /

Calculator / Computer / All rehab equipment.

● Must be able to work any scheduled shifts.

● Must be willing to work periodic overtime and be prepared to take call as requested.

Job RequirementsDegree / Licensure / Certification / Registration : Requires Bachelors or Master’s Degree as appropriate. Requires a current

and valid Arizona license. Requires continuing education and training to maintain Arizona licensure as needed. Must have

current CPR Certification.

Experience Required : A minimum of 3 years previous experience in therapy services. Minimum of 2 years previous supervisory exp preferred
