Job Description Overview:

The Automation Technician I works with minimal supervision to resolve electro-mechanical issues and equipment errors on automated material handling systems and related equipment and perform repair and preventive maintenance. Performs on-site set-up, programming, and customer training.



Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots and repairs minor mechanical problems
  • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Performs on-site set-up, programming, and training
  • Completes detailed reports and other paperwork
  • Follows up on completed work with customers and other departments to ensure resolution
  • Travels up to 75% for up to two weeks at a time


  • Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Technology, or other related field, or equivalent experience with automated storage and retrieval systems
  • Experience working in the mechanical or electronics field
  • Ability to become a subject matter expert in troubleshooting and repairing Wynright equipment and technology and learn new technologies
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Ability to use schematics for troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Computer skills including MS Office
  • Knowledge of safe industrial work practices including Lockout-Tagout and OSHA 10
  • Customer service orientation
