Job Description

Arcadis is seeking a summer construction intern to support the project team for the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation’s Paul John Calricaraq Program (Hospital and Health Clinic). This paid internship would be part-time and be based in Bethel, Alaska from June through August 2017. The intent of this internship is to provide an opportunity for a local student to enhance his/her classroom learning with valuable on-the-job construction management skills. Responsibilities
  • Support construction office administration efforts
  • Assist in preparing daily and weekly construction and safety field reports; construction photos
  • Monitor pay items, quantities of construction materials
  • Coordinate and escort visitors to construction site; support project site tours
  • Observe and learn Contractor’s means and methods
  • Participate in safety, construction and project team meetings; support documentation as needed
  • Review construction drawings/update construction redline drawings
  • Ensure ASIs/RFIs are incorporated into construction drawing and shop drawings on a daily basis
  • Manage project electronic filing needed from construction team for input into the ProCore Project Management Information System
  • Observe and document construction field discussions for construction management team
  • Develop a catalog of existing art collection at CHSB, Hospital and YKHC properties
  • Write a briefing summarizing internship experience at end of the summer
  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent follow up skills
  • Working knowledge of computer application software (training will be provided if needed)
  • Must be organized and work well with constant priority changes
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Job RequirementsRequired Qualifications

    Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student majoring in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Regional Planning, Electrical Engineering, Architecture Engineering, or Business Administration and must have completed the freshman year. (Other degrees will be considered upon request). Preferred Qualifications

    Prior internship experience.
