Job Description

Advantage Resourcing seeks an Automotive Technician able to perform monitoring, recording, troubleshooting, and calibrating of suspensions, alignments, and brakes. This position will be 1st shift, Mon-Fri, and onsite at our direct client, an industry leading automotive company.   1. Willing to travel (8-12 wks/yr)

  2. Willing to work overtime

  4. Computer skills such as MS Excel/Word simple documents

  5. Data Acquisition skills (ability to operate and debug system including interconnected sensors)

  6. Able to make and implement suggestions for improvement

  7. Critical thinking/troubleshooting skills

  8. Excellent communications, Scheduling, and Prioritization skills

    1. Not afraid to ask questions\ seek out answers

    2. Reporting on project progress in team meetings

    3. Some interaction with outside vendors

  9. Flexible (willing to adapt as requirements change)

    1. Learn to work as Client had directed, make adjustments/improvements to standard practices

  10. Self-motivated (work efficiently, keep busy, etc.)



  1. Inventory (Client & Partners)
    1. Log current inventory
    2. Keep equipment clean and organized
    3. Keep misc. items stocked (e.g. batteries, thermocouples, brake fluid, etc)
    4. Order new tools as needed
    5. Handle warranty tool replacement
    6. Keep tool boxes complete and work areas functional (cleaning should be kept to a minimum)
    7. Maintain offsite storage organization
  2. Calibration
    1. In-house calibration for equipment
    2. Send key equipment to outside company for calibration such as tire pressure gauge.
  3. Repair
    1. Investigate problem, then decide to repair in-house or outside
  4. Operation
    1. Learn and operate SPMM, 4 Post, Damper Dyno, etc.



  1. Design & Manufacturing
    1. Able to read and understand basic wiring schematics and harness drawings
    2. Able to design and manufacture vehicle test harnesses to interface with data acquisition and also to interface to special project vehicles (this includes de-bugging of complete system after installation)
    3. Includes having supplies on hand (wire, connectors, corr-tube, terminals, tape, etc)
  2. Repair
    1. Includes having supplies on hand (wire, connectors, corr-tube, terminals, etc)



  1. Able to build simple circuits given a schematic
    1. Includes quality soldering capability
    2. Includes making professional-looking test equipment boxes to hold simple circuit, if necessary



  1. Equipment setup, teardown, and calibration
  2. Tire mounting/changing, and balancing capability
  3. Acquire specifications
  4. Part installation and retrofit, alignments
  5. Vehicle testing
  6. Install Camouflage
  7. Troubleshooting
    1. Check diagnostic codes, repair systems as necessary

Brake Lab


  1. Learn to setup/operate/maintain HILS bench
    1. Installation of parts, bleeding, operating, inspection of parts



  1. Should keep own schedule
  2. Should circulate at Weekly Group Meeting
