Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Financial Systems Analyst plays an important role in maintaining, designing, developing and implementing systems for use within the Finance Department. He/She works closely with Finance team members to identify and define their needs to support departmental operations and user job functions. This includes planning, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications as well as building and maintaining reports within our financial enterprise systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

 

  • Support end users, maintain, and troubleshoot Finance Systems including, but not limited to, Lawson ERP and IBM Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics Workspace
  • Work with end users to understand requirements, build and maintain reports based on their specifications and needs
  • Document procedures and write training documents
  • Work from high-level or detailed requirements, to design, develop, test and implement a variety of operational and analytical reports and dashboards
  • Create queries against tables used for data profiling, troubleshooting, and tactical ad-hoc reporting as needed
  • Research, identify, and analyze the requirements of program users
  • Monitor software performance on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
  • Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas
  • Work with consultants for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of issues
  • Provide guidance to Finance team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Certification:

    • Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, Business Management, Finance, Accounting or related field

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Information Systems, Finance, or Accounting
    • Experience working with any of the following systems: Lawson, TM1/Planning Analytics Workspace, MHC/Document Express
    • Experience with system implementation
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Experience working in a fast-paced high demand environment
    • Experience working with financial modeling and reporting
    • System Implementation Preferred

    Knowledge:          

    • Outstanding analytical skills (numerical, verbal)
    • Highly proficient in Financial modeling and reporting
    • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Project Management experienceKnowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
    • Strong understanding of databases, including SQL/Oracle, querying, data mining etc
