The newly created HR Analytics Analyst position will focus on building and supporting a dedicated analytics role, leveraging our new Workday HCM system. The Analyst will be charged with gathering key HR metrics to tell the talent story in partnership with the HR leaders to Baird leaders through data which supports business decisions.

Reporting to Director of HR Operations and Technology, this is a highly visible, roll-up-your-sleeves position that requires someone with strong technical ability combined with relationship building and the ability to develop and execute a long-term vision.

As a Human Resources Analytics Analyst, you will:

Gather, produce, manipulate and interpret HR analytics data:

  • Partner with HR leaders and teams to create metrics and scorecards related to talent acquisition, talent development, performance management, total rewards, workforce planning, diversity and inclusion, succession planning, turnover, and HR budgeting and finances.
  • Gather and report data from Workday Human Capital Management system, supporting other HR systems and other data repositories.
  • Assess current gaps in reporting and build dashboards and self-service reports for HR and key stakeholders to use in making business decisions.
  • Create efficient ways to gather data and create repeatable reporting uniquely tailored to specific departments and business units based on information they deem valuable and relevant to their business needs.
  • Develop relationships and share results:

  • Build key relationships with stakeholders within HR and throughout the organization to create and influence a new and different way of thinking and understanding of talent metrics.
  • Leverage workforce information, analysis, metrics, trends and reporting to drive the decision-making process and support business leaders and operations across the firm.
  • Present and tell the story to distill and communicate key findings to multiple audiences (e.g., executive, 1-1, large group, all associates, etc.).
  • Support the associate engagement program:

  • Manage the associate engagement survey process including survey design and detailed reporting.
  • Compile and present survey information in meaningful and impactful ways, including providing advice, expertise and guidance regarding reporting and analytics.
  • Manage the data related to Baird's Best Place to Work annual initiative.
  • Build the data analytics strategy and governance:

  • Build processes, deliverables and measures for success for the HR analytics role.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on the HR Governance Committee and consult on change management strategy based on data trends.
  • Prioritize and produce analytics requests and summarize observations.
  • Leverage Workday embedded analytics.

  • Be a leader in your field:

  • Build relationships with peer HR analytics and Workday professionals to exchange ideas, identify trends and collaborate to improve approaches to common challenges and opportunities, resulting in thought leadership and best practices for Baird.
  • Keep abreast of developments in HR analytics to increase performance and drive business results.
  • Leverage industry trends and best practice data to become an expert in your field.

  • What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, IT, Finance or other business discipline.
  • Three to five years of experience with HR reporting and analytics, including advanced skills working within a HRIS system. Knowledge of Workday HCM strongly preferred.
  • Strong data manipulation, data management and report writing skills
  • Experience with data governance and maintaining data integrity and confidentiality
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills such as pivot tables, macros, advanced formulas
  • Proficiency with Windows based PC environment including MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)
  • Strong HR and business acumen with a desire to learn the Baird business combined with exceptional skills in relationship management, influence and collaboration.
  • Experience presenting to senor leaders with strong communication skills, poise and presence.
  • Strong process orientation / logical systems thinking with ability to build a vision and strategic direction for the future of HR analytics at Baird.
