Job Description Grade:

  • Supervises employees to ensure they are using proper cleaning procedures.
  • Trains employees in proper usage of chemicals.
  • Inspects guest rooms, hallways and back of house areas for cleanliness.
  • Reports to Executive Housekeeper damages and/or repairs of equipment and machines.
  • Follows up on any calls for cleaning requests.
  • Assigns employees to compete special projects.
  • Completes work orders for repairs and follows up upon completion.
  • Completes daily schedules for employees.
  • Conducts random inspections of work assigned to staff.
  • Inspects supply lockers to ensure par levels are maintained and organized.
  • Is knowledgeable about all cleaning techniques and equipment usage.
  • Monitors employee performance and recommends commendations and discipline when necessary.
  • Ensures the proper use, training, and maintenance of all departmental machinery and equipment.
  • Assists and verifies employee adherence to the departmental safety protocols.
  • Perform all other job related duties as requested.
  • Required:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Housekeeping supervisor or related position, in a resort atmosphere.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience.
  • At least 1 year of training experience.
  • Working knowledge of general cleaning supplies and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Preferred:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
