How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Accounting Manager position in the Omaha, Nebraska Coatings Division.  We are looking for a highly driven individual that will assists in implementation of policies and systems for planning, directing and controlling the accounting functions and practices of the division including internal control, records and reports, management accounting information, credit policy, analysis and interpretation of operating statistics.  Responsible for preparing and reviewing the financial activities of the division, gathering and communicating financial information between sites and Corporate offices, ensuring records comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), governmental regulations, taxing authorities and the policies and procedures of the company.   • Have an understanding of how to load and balance trial balances from all Coatings locations accounting systems into corporate reporting system 
  • Maintain and distribute monthly financial status reports
  • Prepare analysis of A/R and reasonableness of reserves
  • Coordinate, organize and analyze all Coatings sites reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts
  • Perform bi-Annual review and maintain process narratives, Segregation of Duties (SOD), and control matrices for all Coatings Division locations
  • Approve user access to all accounting systems to make sure maintaining segregation of duties or that controls are in place
  • Administer the purchase credit card program
  • What it takes

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting (from an accredited college or university)
  • 7-10 years of experience in general accounting including 3-5 years Senior Accountant level experience and 1-3 years Accounting Supervisor experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
  • Willingness and interest in finding ways to improve processes
  • Proficiency working with all types of systems
  • Ability to get along and work well with others 
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Travel 20%
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
  • Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing philosophy, including standard work creation, Value Stream Mapping, root cause analysis, process improvements, etc.
  • CPA audit experience
