Job Description

Position Title:              Dishwasher - Part Time

General Summary:

Responsible for ensuring that all dishes, pots and pans are properly washed and stored correctly in order to positively contribute to the dining experience.  Responsible for ensuring the safety of our residents.  Responsible, with all other employees, for the leasing and marketing success of the community.  Conducts business according to the Mission, Vision, Values and Goals.

Essential Job Functions:

1.         Responsible for Kitchen Duties

  1. Washes all dishes, cooking utensils and pots and pans
  2. Uses proper sanitizing soap to clean dishes and utensils
  3. Uses equipment in a safe manner
  4. Ensures that all dishes, pots, pans, etc. are free of water before storing
  5. Delivers room trays
  6. Follows all health department guidelines, safety practices and infection control practices
  7. Understands proper emergency response procedures

2.         Responsible for Keeping the Kitchen Area Clean

  1. Puts all groceries away
  2. Empties all kitchen trash
  3. Keeps area clean and dry at all times
  4. Keeps dish room walls and pots and pans cleaned and wiped down at all times
  5. Sweeps and mops all kitchen floors and outside hallway every evening, using wet floor signs
  6. Mops walk-in when needed
  7. Hoses down outside back door area when needed
  8. Cleans dish machine nightly
  9. De-limes dishwasher regularly
  10. De-limes the stainless steel area when necessary
  11. Cleans and sanitizes areas at all times

Dishwasher may be given additional duties and responsibilities.


Varied hours, typically between 25-30 hours per week (hours will vary)

Must be available for weekdays and weekends
