Job Description

Praxair Surface Technologies (PST), a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc., a Fortune 300 company that supplies atmospheric, process, specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services & technologies is seeking a Pack Coating Operator for our Biddeford, ME location.

The Pack Coating Operator prepares powder, packs and unpacks parts for the oven coating process. Maintains the highest quality standards by following Praxair Standard Practices in all aspects of this job.

Pack Coating Operator

  • Reviews routing form to confirm coating type and operation procedure
  • May reference standard practice manual to confirm; powder mixture, mixing methods, cleaning procedure and pan preparation
  • Prepares powder mixture for coating process by insuring powder has been screened and visually inspecting the mixer for cleanliness
  • Obtains powder from storage area, and pours it into appropriate mixer/hopper
  • Operates mixing machine
  • Fills furnace pans with appropriate amount of powder and manually places parts into the pan orienting them according to specification
  • After oven coating moves pans onto de-boating station using forklift
  • Removes parts from pan and de-masks parts if required
  • Pushes pan emptied of parts along roller conveyor into vibratory screening chamber
  • Uses forklift to transport pans and materials
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Job Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Must be able to read and understand instructions and technical specifications
    • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
    • Capable of lifting up to 40lbs
    • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, hand and finger manipulation, occasional stooping, crouching, and climbing
     
    PST is a supplier which abides by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As such, persons considered for this position must be either a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder) or otherwise classifiable as a U.S. person under relevant ITAR regulations.
